My Why.

MY WHY.

As a young mom, its probably no surprise that I am most drawn to photographing
families. I love being able to capture my own family dynamic with the hopes of
preserving this amazing time in our lives more vividly than my own memories
can.

My family is my greatest treasure and I find it so important to jot these
memories down, pictures are just my choice of words to tell the story of our lives.

I understand how hard it can be to get everyone in the picture yourself, therefore
hiring a photographer is truly essential for your family photos from time to time.
My goal with each session is to have my clients feel comfortable enough to be
themselves and interact with their family as they would any given day.

These are the moments I love to get the most. Of course that “picture perfect” smile is on
my list, but those organic feel-good moments are my favorites.

My editing style is influenced by the families I take pictures of. The fun, playful
side of families inspires me to edit pictures in a bright and cheery way.

Spring is a perfect time to get your family pictures done! We are all eager to
spend our time outside in this beautiful weather, let me join in on the fun with you.

Print vs. Digital

Print vs. Digital

We are taking photos more than ever, but they’re nearly all digital files with very few tangible prints being produced. A 2015 survey conducted by Professional Photographers of America showed that a staggering 53% of consumers have not printed a photo in more than 12 months, 70% don’t have photo albums, and 42% no longer print at all.

Children love to see images of themselves around the house, newlyweds have fond moments when they see their wedding photo on the mantle or walls, and our most-beloved memories are sealed in time…. all thanks to the power of print.

How can you ensure your memories last for generations? Work with a photographer that offers prints.

As a photographer that offers print, I can help you get beautiful art of your family for the wall, in an album, or matted prints in a keep sake box.

It is all starts with your in-home consultation. This is when we discuss exactly what you are wanting and design your portrait session around that. If you are wanting portraits for your wall we get a picture of your space, at your ordering session we will view your portraits on your wall space so you can see how it will look and make sure we order the proper size and you like the look and feel on your wall.

Welcome to Los Alamos Photography

Welcome to Los Alamos Photography

First of all if you’re reading this, I want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to visit our brand new website. Our goal with the blog is to post weekly, each week being a message from a different member of the group. As the owner and operator of this site, I want to take a few minutes to explain my vision for the site and share a quick story of its creation.

This website is something I’d thought a lot about long before presenting it to the other members. I kept noticing how often the Keep It Local - Los Alamos page on Facebook received virtually the same post. It was always someone asking other members to weigh in on who they think is the best photographer in Los Alamos. As our about page states, there is absolutely nothing wrong with people asking this question. The problem lies in answering the question.

The “best” photographer to one, or many, may not correlate to who others believe is the best. Don’t get me wrong, it is an amazing compliment to be mentioned in one of these threads, but they often spiral out of control with exactly the same comments as the last time.

One day Tara Key started a group conversation via Facebook with all the photographers she could think of who were the usual suspects in these threads. Her goal was to get together and really get to know each other. I thought this invitation was amazing, not only for the purpose she saw, but to pitch the idea for this website. Most of the photographers thought it was a much-needed, albeit atypical idea in this field.

I truly hope you appreciate the concept and are able to utilize it to its full potential the next time you are looking for someone to capture your important moments. If you believe you have an idea that could improve this site or even if you just want to chat about camera gear, don’t hesitate to send me an email at brianalanclayton@gmail.com

Thank you all for your time,

Brian Alan Clayton
